The vision of the Office of School Support and Well-Being is to provide curated, aligned, and differentiated support to schools designed to facilitate expert teaching, learning, and leadership that enables students, teachers, and leaders to thrive.
What underpins our work is a shared belief in communication, collaboration, and coordination as foundational to stakeholder engagement, investment, and trust. Key to our service delivery mindset is being reflective practitioners, matching our say and do, and end-to-end support to schools.

Student Forum on School Safety: MCPS hosted a Student Forum on School Safety, where over 250 students from 54 schools provided valuable insight into well-being and school safety issues in Montgomery County Public Schools. The forum was followed up by smaller focus groups designed to engage smaller groups of elementary school students. The student voice data collected during these sessions was an important component of a comprehensive review of all well-being, safety & security structures and processes and was a key factor in designing the safety, security and social emotional well-being upgrades we see in our schools today.
Parent Voice Focus Groups: As a follow-up to our student forum, MCPS hosted a series of community parent focus groups to engage in conversations and hear perspectives on creating safe and equitable schools for students, the CEO program enhancements that are in progress, and supporting their students’ mental health and social well-being.
Spanish Language Caregiver Focus Groups: A Spanish language caregiver outreach work group was formed to create specific opportunities to engage Spanish speaking caregivers in conversations to hear their perspectives on creating safe and equitable schools for students, the in progress CEO program enhancements, and supporting their students’ mental health and social well-being.
